Worship

Worship is a central part of life at St John's Upper Holloway, reflecting its ethos and values as a Church of England school. It provides a dedicated time for pupils and staff to come together in a spiritual space, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Through collective worship, students are encouraged to reflect on moral and ethical issues, develop their understanding of Christian teachings, and celebrate important religious events as a community. Worship also supports students' personal development, offering them time for contemplation, gratitude, and spiritual growth.

This practice helps instil values such as kindness, respect, and empathy, which are fundamental to the school’s Christian vision. Our vision verse is from John 15:12: “My command is this: love each other as I have loved you.”

Love underpins and drives much of the following values that we seek to develop and see flourish in our lives: Creativity, Thankfulness, Truthfulness, Friendship, Perseverance and Courage.

In every aspect of our lives within St John’s Upper Holloway school, we seek to obey Jesus’ command to “Love each other” by following the above biblical understanding of Love, as demonstrated by Jesus through His words and actions.

Our Vision

Jesus said: ‘Love each other as I have loved you’. John 15:12

As we are loved, so we shall love.
As we are taught, so we shall teach.
As we are nurtured, so we shall flourish.
