Pupil Premium and Catch Up Premium

Nationally, children from poorer backgrounds achieve lower results on average than those from less poor backgrounds. The government has introduced additional funding for schools to target children who receive free school meals in an effort to "narrow the gap" in terms of children's outcomes.

Our Pupil Premium Policy sets out how we use our additional funding to help narrow this gap and the appendix also highlights how effective we have been with this. Our Pupil Premium Statement highlights how we will be spending the funding in the year ahead.

During the Covid epidemic, many pupils were unable to access remote learning provision and as a result, their attainment on returning to school was much lower than expected. The school received Catch Up Premium funding to provide additional support and interventions to targeted pupils with a view to them making accelerated progress and narrowing the gaps in their learning. The Catch Up premium statement below shows how we plan to use this funding in 2020-21.
